Varga is a highly ranked tennis player who expects to invest substantial amounts of money through Smyth Barry. She is very bright; therefore, she would like to understand in general terms what will happen to her money. After your consultation with Michelle, she asks to discuss these two scenarios with you:

a. While in the waiting room of your office, she overheard an analyst on a financial TV network say that a particular medical research company just received FDA approval for one of its products. On the basis of this “hot” information, Michelle wants to buy many shares of that company’s stock. Assuming the stock market is highly efficient, what advice would you give her?

b. She has read a number of newspaper articles about a huge IPO being carried out by a leading technology company. She wants to get as many shares in the IPO as possible and would even be willing to buy the shares in the open market immediately after the issue. What advice do you have for her?

For this thread, you must find a Youtube video that relates to one or more of the selected authors assigned for this module. Post the link to the video you’ve chosen and discuss its relevance to the assigned reading for this module. In what way does the video inform you about these authors / this period in African American literary history? How helpful was the video to you? You should document your exegesis carefully. Be sure to use some material from the bibliography in the course Doc Sharing area for your exegesis, especially the biblical reference books. Below are some hints for successfully completing the paper:
1. Look up your passage in the New Testament.

2. Consult a general commentary (such as The Jerome Biblical Commentary, The New Jerome Biblical Commentary, or The Collegeville Bible Commentary).

3. Consult specific commentaries (see the course bibliography in Doc Sharing, e.g., Harrington’s Matthew’s Gospel, Fitzmyer’s The Gospel According to Luke).

4. Conduct a periodical search (through EBSCO) of your passage, limiting search to full-text, peerreviewed journals.

Use the checklist below to ensure that you are following the format properly:

1. Are all ideas documented (including page numbers)?

2. Are all quotations documented (including page numbers)?

3. Is there a works cited page?

4. Do the notes and bibliography include sources recommended by the syllabus?

5. Does the format include the headings from the syllabus?

6. Does each sentence make sense?

7. Does the “form” section clearly name a literary form?

The final paper is due by the conclusion of Module 7 and is worth 25% of the course grade.

What fundamental factors drew the Europeans to the exploration, conquest, and colonization of the New World? What was the impact on the Indians, Europeans, and Africans when each of their previously separate worlds “collided” with one another?  What caused the shift from indentured servant to African slaves as the dominant labor force in the southern colonies?

One of the inevitable and time-honoured questions asked about Hamlet focuses on the question of his insanity, whether he has put on an “antic disposition” or whether he is truly insane. Discuss whether you believe Hamlet is putting on an “antic disposition” or whether you believe he is truly insane. Consider the following questions in preparing your response, but do not answer them specifically.

Through experience, management knew that training a new employee well was essential. Each new employee was put through a 1-month training program, and was assigned to an existing employee for an entire month. Normally an existing employee would work 160 hours per month. However, when an employee was assigned to perform training of a new-hire, the productive work hours for that employee dropped to 80 hours per month.

 

During the training period, the trainee was paid $2,000 for the month. At the end of that time, the monthly salary increases to the standard salary for a regular customer service representative which is $3,500 per month. In the past, the company lost about 5% of the trained customer service representatives per month due to attrition. While the company is looking to improve upon this, for the next several months it is anticipated that this will continue. There will be 170 trained employees at the beginning of April. Management of the company would like to develop a schedule of hiring new employees so that there are sufficient customer service representatives to meet the demand, but this is to be done at the lowest possible cost.
