Describe how technological advancements have facilitated the implementation of renewable energy technology.

Your Assignment should be written in an essay format, with an introduction and conclusion. The paper will require you to include details from research including the course materials and sources you locate on your own. Use APA format to cite your sources of information, both within parenthetical citations and also within a reference page at the end of the project.

Your paper should include all of the following parts.

  • Assess your own energy use: What forms of energy do you currently rely on and where do they originate from? Be sure to consider the energy that you use at home, during travel, and at work or in school. Include at leastfive specific examples. Consider whether each energy source is renewable or nonrenewable.
  • Using the provided materials, determine which renewable sources of energy would be the most and least appropriate for use in your chosen location. Be sure to discuss the energy form identified by your instructor as well as two other forms of renewable energy, for a total of three forms of renewable energy. Explain how you arrived at your decisions. For example, you may find that solar energy is not a potential resource due to seasonal changes making sunlight inconsistently available throughout the year.
  • Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the energy sources you currently rely on as well as the three renewable energy sources you identified above. Include both the economic (costs/benefits) and ecological impacts of each.
  • Describe how technological advancements have facilitated the implementation of renewable energy technology. Be sure to examine how technology has influenced our ability to generate and distribute renewable energy to a broader consumer base over time.
  • In addition to using alternative forms of energy, energy conservation is also a significant way in which ecological impacts can be reduced on the environment. Determine areas where you may already practice energy conservation and also identify at least three ways in which you can reduce your energy use at home, work, or in other areas you engage in on a regular basis.

Evaluate the soundness of the company’s financial policies based on the material covered during class.

The Final Paper will involve applying the concepts learned in class to an analysis of a company using data from its annual report. Using the concepts from this course, you will analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the company and write a report recommending whether or not to purchase the company stock.

 

The completed report should include:

  • An introduction to the company, including background information.
  • A financial statement review.
  • Pro Forma financial statements (Balance Sheet and Income Statement) for the next two fiscal years, assuming a 10% growth rate in sales and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) for each of the next two years.
  • A ratio analysis for the last fiscal year using at least two ratios from each of the following categories:

 

a.       Liquidity

b.      Financial leverage

c.       Asset management

d.      Profitability

e.       Market value

  • Calculate Return on Equity (ROE) using the DuPont system.
  • Assess management performance by calculating Economic Value Added (EVA).
  • Evaluate the soundness of the company’s financial policies (e.g. capital structure, debt, leverage, dividend policy, etc.) based on the material covered during class.
  • A synopsis of your findings, including your recommendations and rationale for whether or not to purchase stock from this company.

 

This report should be 15 to 20 pages long, excluding title page and reference page(s), using APA 6th edition formatting guidelines. Support your findings and recommendations with evidence from at least five scholarly sources in addition to the annual report, such as the textbook, industry reports, and articles from the Ashford University Library. Final Paper

A sociologist must be able to analyze racial and ethnic differences in different national contexts. Race and ethnicity are constructed differently in different places and at different times. For example, in the United States, race is defined in a way such that two children with the same biological parents cannot possibly be of different races. In contrast, some countries, such as the Dominican Republic, define race in a way that would allow for siblings (born of the same parents) to be placed into different racial categories. In order to develop this skill, you will select a particular country and analyze the ethnic stratification within that society.

For this assignment, you must focus on ethnic stratification and conflict, including evidence of prejudice and discrimination. In addition to a description of the selected society and its ethnic groups, include an analysis of similarities and differences in the society’s ethnic stratification system as compared to the United States.

You may select one of the countries on the CIA World Factbook website for comparison to the United States in terms of the ethnic stratification system.

Accused of aggressively marketing its baby formula in impoverished markets where clean water was not readily available, which caused children to be sick, Nestlé was hit with a boycott that started in 1977 and continues to this day in various regions around the world. “They went in and tried to convince people that this was the modern thing to do. They (Nestle) assumed there would be clean water, when there wasn’t any, and the natural method would have been perfectly fine. The 2010 oil spill was the largest accidental marine oil spill in the history of the petroleum industry, causing extensive damage to wildlife habitats, as well as local fishing and tourism industries. Although China is in the midst of a huge building boom, it doesn’t have the same implications as in North America. And it’s not just that labor is cheaper in China.
