Child sex tourism in India

This paper is designed to assess student comprehension and analysis of the key concepts, issues and challenges presented in the course. You will propose and analyze a topic which addresses some aspect of alternative tourism and justice (as discussed in class).

You may pick a general topic we have covered in class (e.g. “Female Sex Tourism”), but you must try to focus your analysis on a different region or population – one not discussed in class (e.g. in India). Or, try to discuss a different facet of a general tourism topic (e.g. “sex tourism” – gay male sex tourism in Thailand, “girlie-boys” in Thailand, child sex tourism in Brazil).

Instructions

Whichever you choose, your essay must incorporate at least three readings from the course and three outside references (of these three, two must be academic journals).

Your essay should also include class discussion, media/films presented and current events (as they apply). To structure your paper, you must address each of the following sections in depth:

Your paper should include four sections:

1. An overview of the selected topic including:

data on prevalence (where is it occurring/how long has it been occurring/how many people involved) and demographics (who are the tourists and the “toured”)?
what are the issues at play? Why is this topic relevant to our class? What are the general controversies surrounding this type of tourism?
2. A discussion of the current body of academic research on the selected topic (literature review)

**minimum of three outside sources, two of which must be journal articles** and three readings from class (more is okay):*************

What does the literature say about the topic, including history, nature of the controversy, contributing factors etc.?
You must cite the authors from class and your own research here.
***Remember to analyze the economic, geographic, ethnic, political and environmental issues that may be contributing to the controversy surrounding this type of tourism*** use the literature, not your opinion here.

3. Whether your topic is considered to be problematic by some (e.g. Drug Tourism) or many (e.g. Child Sex Tourism), you must include a discussion of the current responses to address the problem, including governmental policies and/or non-governmental organizations. These can include information from websites such as “Tourism Concern” (http://www.tourismconcern.org.uk/index.php?page=home).

You are basically answering the question “what is being done about the ‘problem’ of this particular type of tourism”?

**Each of the topics in the course is controversial – so you should all address this section to some extent.**

4. A section focused on your ideas and thoughts on how governments, organizations and individuals can better address these problems (the problems discussed earlier), drawing on the knowledge and tools you have developed over the semester.

You must include a thoughtful discussion of what you think is going well, what could be improved, what you agree/disagree with regarding this topic.

Annonymous paper

This paper will be a revised and expanded version of the first research paper. Based on your instructor’s feedback, you will first revise the first paper.  Write three-to-four (3-4) new pages that address the following: To help you understand this assignment further, the following description and examples may be useful. Define doctrine and identify why a president would want to announce one.  A doctrine is an ideological platform that a president uses to advance a policy towards a country or region in order to accomplish foreign policy goals for the United States, so you will need to expand on this theme.     Refer back to Assignment 1, and build on whatever doctrine you wrote about then.  Say, for example, you selected the Truman Doctrine.  Therefore, this is the only thing you will write about in Assignment 2 step 1.     Select one country you wrote about in Assignment 1 and describe the Cold War relationship that existed between it and the U.S.  Before the presidential doctrine was announced.  In the case of Truman, you would pick either the Soviet Union, Greece, or Iran, since all three were affected by his doctrine.  If you are writing about the Eisenhower Doctrine, you would choose Lebanon or Egypt; if you wrote about the Kennedy Doctrine, you would have write about Cuba or Vietnam; if your wrote about the Nixon Doctrine, you would choose either Vietnam, Saudi Arabia or Iran; if you chose Carter, you would select either Iran or Afghanistan; and if you wrote about the Reagan Doctrine, you would select Nicaragua, Angola, Russia or Afghanistan (although there were several others).   Describe what effect the presidential doctrine you chose has had on regional or global affairs since it was announced during the Cold War.   That is, how did the doctrine change the status quo regionally or globally after it was announced by the U.S.?  What happened in Western Europe after the Truman Doctrine was announced?  What happened in the Middle East after the Eisenhower Doctrine was announced?  What happened with Cuba or Vietnam after Kennedy offered up his doctrine of flexible response?  What happened in Southeast Asia or the Persian Gulf after the Nixon Doctrine went in effect?  What happened in the Middle East after the Carter Doctrine was announced?  What happened in Central America or Africa or the Middle East after Reagan announced his doctrine?   Refer back to the country you selected in step two and describe the relationship that currently exists between the U.S. and that country.   How has the relationship changed between the U.S. and that country since the doctrine was announced?   Evaluate whether or not the presidential doctrine had had the intended effect of altering the behavior of the one country you selected in section (2) above since the doctrine was first announced.  Your assignment must:

Health Management Information Systems

1. Read the case study titled “MinuteClinic,”. P                                                                                Case Study                MinuteClinic, owned by pharmacy giant CVS, is a retail healthcare provider with more than 500 locations established throughout the country. The centers are designed to treat patients with minor injuries or sicknesses, and more than 1.8 million patient visits have been documented since the company’s inception in 2000. By creating a healthcare delivery model that responds to consumer demand, MinuteClinic makes access to high-quality medical treatment easier for more Americans. As more patients used MinuteClinic resources, one issue the company faced was how to pass medical information to primary care physicians. As Cris Ross, chief information officer of MinuteClinic, explains, “There are a number of things we do very well with physicians, except connect electronically. We’ve been looking for a business-to-business exchange.” As a solution to this problem, MinuteClinic recently turned to ePrescribing connectivity network SureScripts to facilitate this exchange. It is the first time the SureScripts network has been used for anything other than pharmacy orders and related transactions. “The idea is that we already have pharmacies connected,” acting SureScripts CEO Rick Ratliff told Digital Healthcare & Productivity by telephone. “We have an ability to identify a physician uniquely on the network.” As part of this connection, MinuteClinic will convert records from its proprietary electronic medical records system into Continuity of Care Record (CCR) standard format. Ratliff adds that this record “can be moved around almost like a piece of mail” from provider to provider, and into personal health records (PHR). Now with every visit, MinuteClinic practitioners stress the importance of maintaining a medical home for each patient by making information accessible to primary care providers. If a patient doesn’t have a primary care provider, MinuteClinic provides a list of physicians in the area who are accepting new patients. Practitioners are then able to use a multipurpose softwarebased approach at the conclusion of each visit that generates educational material, an invoice, and a prescription (when clinically appropriate) for the patient, as well as a diagnostic record that is automatically sent to the patient’s primary care provider’s office (with the patient’s consent) to facilitate continuity of care.  2. Visualize that may arise as a result of implementing an electronic record that can be easily transferred from clinic to physician. Next,

04/30/2016 Police Structure

Assignment 1: Impersonal Policing vs. Community PolicingThe use of squad cars and preventive patrol strategies was associated with a move toward police professionalism and a rejection of favoritism and corruption. After all, if the officer simply patrols the city in his or her car and reacts or responds to crimes as they occur, then there is no opportunity for the officer to indulge in corruption or to develop relationships with the citizenry that could compromise his or her objectivity and impartiality. A police officer dispatched to a dispute between neighbors or neighboring shopkeepers, neither of whom the officer has met, will presumably be able to bring a sense of objectivity to the dispute that one would expect of a neutral, noninvested third party. Then, the community policing model was introduced. Officers were told to get out of the cars and get to know shopkeepers and residents.Proponents of community policing argue that the rapport established with friends and acquaintances will allow the officer to resolve a dispute in a quicker, more informal, and less dramatic ways then would be the case otherwise. However, a police officer dispatched to a dispute in which the officer knows one or more of the parties may have a difficult time being neutral and objective. It may be difficult for the officer to tell a citizen who happens to be a friendly acquaintance of the officer that he or she is wrong, or worse, that he or she is going to get a citation or is going to jail.Using the Argosy University online library resources, find at least two articles on community policing. To read more about community policing refer to the title “Police Executive Research Forum (PERF)” in the . This is a premier federally funded research organization and think tank incorporated in 1977. Some of policing’s most significant empirical studies, such as the Kansas City preventive patrol experiment and the San Diego experiment on one- vs. two-officer squad cars, were sponsored by the PERF.Submission Details:By , in a minimum of 250 words, post to the  your response to the following:Be sure to support your positions by citing your research.By , read and respond to at least two of your classmates’ posts by addressing issues brought up in their posts. Portfolio— final paper

Portfolio Instructions
please teacher told me , the introduction and analysis two pages , the cover memo tow pages.

The Portfolio displays the work you have done throughout the semester. Compiling your work in this way encourages you to reflect on what you have learned in this course, enables you (and others) to see how your writing has improved, and helps you to recognize how the knowledge you have gained about writing will benefit you in the future.

Your final Portfolio must include, in this order:

• Table of Contents (5 points)
• Portfolio Introduction and Analysis (20 points)
• Revision of a previously submitted assignment (20 points)
• Revision Cover Memo (5 points)
• All of the three papers you turned in during the semester (5 points)

Carefully proofread and revise everything before submitting.

IMPORTANT: All Portfolio documents must be clean copies without any comments or grades on them.
You will submit your Portfolio using Pathbrite–the new Portfolio platform we are using at the University of Utah.

Table of Contents
As you are gathering and writing the pieces for the portfolio, you need to create a Table of Contents, which is a list of all of the items included in the portfolio.

Your Table of Contents will be the first page of your portfolio and should include an original Portfolio Title at the top of the page.
The Table of Contents will reflect the overall organization of your portfolio and will help the reader navigate the document. It will also help you think about your organization of your work.

1. Portfolio Analysis and Self-Reflection
2. Revision of a previously submitted assignment
3. Revision Cover Memo
4. …

This is your last chance to revise your Lit. Review, and it should convey your grasp of academic writing at the university level. Use this opportunity to make final changes so that it represents your best work, and take the time to proofread carefully so that your spelling, grammar, and formatting meet academic standards.

Because the Portfolio will be one long document, you should include titles that are specific to your papers, page numbers, and as much other detail as you see fit (sub-section titles, etc.). Consider the audience for the portfolio. What will their reasons be for reading it, and what kinds of information will that audience find useful in the Table of Contents?
Introduction and analysis

In this introduction, you need to tell your readers about what they are going to see. Briefly explain each section and highlight the problems you faced while writing it. Furthermore, in this introduction you might tell your readers how the experience of writing a portfolio has improved your analytical writing skills. The portfolio project is designed to give you a new perspective on the work you have done this semester. It is important to think about where you started and to articulate the specific ways your writing has developed.

In preparation for drafting your introduction and analysis, you will review all of your written work from the semester so that you may discuss:
• what you have learned about your writing,
• how your writing has improved,
• how you will apply what you have learned in future classes, and
• what you will continue to work on to improve your writing.

You will write a brief essay in which you explain these points using specific examples from your previously graded papers. (Your own writing becomes source material for your essay.) Your analysis must accomplish three things:

1. Describe three or four concrete ways in which your writing has improved. Find an example of your writing from early in the semester that you can compare to your later work. Explain what about the more recent example is an improvement over the first. Discuss the process you went through to develop your writing in these particular ways.
2. Explain how you will apply what you have learned in future classes. Yes, this exercise is a bit hypothetical, but this college course is designed to benefit you in all of your coursework, so it is important for you to consider how your new skills might apply in future educational scenarios.
3. Finally, identify and discuss the writing skills and concepts you would like to develop further as you progress at the university.

Some of the writing concepts to consider as you read through your portfolio are:
• summary
• synthesis (combining other people’s words and ideas)
• overall paper structure
• paragraph development
• sentence structure
• thesis writing and placement
• research and citation
• “representing the conversation”

Of course, you are not limited to this list, and you should discuss anything that you feel is relevant to your writing.
As was true with the literacy narrative, the introduction and analysis need to be detailed and specific, and they should connect all of the details in a common discussion.
