The Best Laid Plans (any questions let me know)

Many of the men who contributed to the birth of our new nation had great plans for schools and other educational institutions. For many reasons, very few of their plans actually materialized. Select two plans (such as the defeat of Jefferson’s “Bill for the More General Diffusion of Knowledge,” or the unwillingness of the wealthy landowners to pay property taxes for the education of the poor) and explain why you believe these plans did not come to fruition. You must support your opinion with examples from the text and one additional source. Cite your sources in APA format as outlined in the Ashford Writing CenterIn addition, answer the following questions:

discussion 4

You are caring for a 32-year-old male client who pushes his call light stating he is experiencing intermittent, sharp precordial chest pain that radiates to his neck since being admitted during the night. He gets relief if he sits and leans forward, but the pain gets worse with swallowing. He rates the pain at 5 out of 10 on a numerical scale. He has not received any medication for the pain since admitted to your floor. On physical examination, a pericardial friction rub can be heard. From your morning report, you are aware that he had an upper respiratory tract infection two weeks ago.

Horace Mann (1779-1859) ( any question let me know)

is best known as the father of the American public education system. Mann improved the school system by limiting private influence, increasing the number of high schools and increasing attendance. In addition, he was instrumental in bettering the salaries for teachers. Review the following quotes from this great advocate for education. Select one of the quotes and explain what it means to you more than 200 years later.PBS.org. (n.d.). . Retrieved from

Take a Stand (any question let me know)

Education was a priority for the founding fathers. Dr. Benjamin Rush, unlike his peers, was an advocate for education that included both females and blacks. He founded one of the first female academies in the United States, the Young Ladies Academy of Philadelphia. Although he was a believer in women being educated, his reasoning for the importance of education was that it would make women more subservient to men. In two-page APA-formatted paper, refer to your text and then “take a stand.” You will either defend Rush’s position for creating the curriculum he implemented (a few of the subjects taught: general knowledge of bookkeeping, vocal music and dance, and moral philosophy) or discredit his stance and explain how women would be better off without this bias and/or unfair education. List at least three reasons to support your opinion.:: Your finished paper must include a title page and a reference page formatted in APA 6th-edition style. It should include a minimum of one source in addition to your textbook and should not exceed two pages (not including title and reference pages).
