Elisabeth Kubler-Ross identified five stages of dying: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.

(Santrock, Ch. 20, pg. 603)

If you have experiened a loss in your life, perhaps you can relate to moving through or being in these stages. Or maybe you disagree with these stages and do not identify with this theory.

Assignment:

Write a 2-3 page paper, APA format answering the following questions.

1. What are Kubler-Ross’ five stages of dying? What conclusions can be reached about them?

2. What is your sense of perceived control as it relates to death?
