Take some time to thoughtfully reflect on this week\’s assigned reading and then construct a 3-5 paragraph response answering the following questions (be sure to reference your sources – textbook, other – to support your statements and opinions):

(1) What data can be stolen using a man in the middle attack and what would the implications be for an end user (whose data is stolen)?

This chat continues with our South Asian religious traditions module.

1) As you\’ve read the material on Jainism and Buddhism, it might have occurred to you that these two traditions do not have any direct need for a God or gods. They tend to be religions in which the individual must seek their own salvation through \’practice\’.

To what extent are religions simply systematic responses to the problem of pain and suffering? What other problems or realities do you see religious impulses addressing, and do religions such as Buddhism and Jainism address these other issues?

2) Sikhism began as an attempt to unify Hinduism and Islam. While some Hindus and Muslims believed in the possibility and desirability of such unification, most did not.

Why would the unification of these or any two religions be problematic to some? Why would it, at the same time, be desirable to some?

3) Why is religious tolerance necessary? What are the limits of religious tolerance?

4) What is the difference, if any, between a religion that is worth living for and one that is worth dying for?
