I think that are several personal characteristics that companies look for when trying to hire an employee long term. I think the most important thing is someone that can do the basics. The basics is the most important part of the job. Once they do the basics, companies like their employees to have the drive to go above and beyond what is needed. Also. A worker that is proactive is a great asset for a company to have too. When someone does something without being told, it gives the company one less thing to worry about, and the company can use that time towards other projects. People can develop these characteristics by watching other coworkers that are successful and asking those questions. Also, if an employee wants to be real successful, they should also ask their manager what things they could do better and make an effort to improve on them things.
