I\’m a project manager and I have noticed the issue of over design at front end study stage of the project – my presentation details these findings. I also asked whether your focus is on financial management or the entire organization/industry design. My focus is on the design culture onsite(just one site), but I have backed this up with a working example. I have also used the Open Genius canvases to work through the problem and define the solutions. This is not a global problem I would like to discuss, this paper should only reference one site.

I have worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over twenty years where I have worked in varying roles from Civil Designer, Construction management,Project Engineer to my current role of Project manager. All the projects I haveworked on had some varying degree of over indulgence in some aspect theprojects. The earlier projects in my career were low in value sub 250k with excessspends in the thousands. Im currently project manager on a project of value of14MM and these excess spends are now in the tens of thousands. Im in aprominent position to notice these collective over spends and can now escalatethese issues to Business Unit Leaders.
