This is the only requirement is that it is for about 10pages and should be a literature review.
Few comments made from my supervisors was bellow.
What might be useful is if you could outline your progress a bit more formally. I.e. resend a clear proposal updated if appropriate, a few bullet points on the approach you think youll be taking to the historical research (drawing on your reading) etc. Really just to let us know your thinking and how you see the work developing. That puts us in a positon to offer some advice now, as well as in January.

However, prior to this it was agreed that we really need more written work from Takehiko for the discussion to be meaningful. Whilst I know that a lot of reading has been done, we need to know more about the direction being proposed. I had previously emailed what our expectation is it is copied below from a previous email. In particular, at this stage it is useful to have a clear proposed title and brief intro (not a completed draft but an outline so we can see the basis of the work), an outline of the literature review and also of the proposed methodology. I would suggest that the lit rev could outline the general, contextual literature on tourism development in Japan (business / tourism history for example, which you have looked into), whilst the methodology could focus on your approach to archival research alongside other secondary sources. This need not be long, but it should indicate current thinking / direction proposed.

After reviewing 909 articles about 60 articles were selected. It has been summarised and tabled. Themes and subthemes were identified. Each theme are written in particular fonts.
