Explain how Groupon takes advantage of social networking and location technology.

Strategic Management #5

Case must be 2 pages long. It is best performed as a SWOT analysis. I am looking for your thoughts, interpretation, what would you do, did they do it right, etc.

Case study, the purpose is to analyze it and make recommendations. The Groupon case study didn’t have any questions with it – therefore what I really want is this:

• Explain how Groupon takes advantage of social networking and location technology.

• Explain whether or not you think the business model is viable and explain why or why not.

Perform a SWOT analysis to make a recommendation for Groupon.

Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) is a progressive degenerative disease of the brain found in athletes (and others) with a history of repetitive brain trauma, including symptomatic concussions as well as asymptomatic sub concussive hits to the head. This trauma triggers progressive degeneration of the brain tissue, including the build-up of an abnormal protein called tau. These changes in the brain can begin months, years, or even decades after the last brain trauma or end of active athletic involvement. The brain degeneration is associated with memory loss, confusion, impaired judgment, impulse control problems, aggression, depression, and, eventually, progressive dementia. What sampling technique will be used to collect your sample? What population does your sample generalize to?

What is your research question?

What is your hypothesis or hypotheses? What is the null hypothesis?

How many participants would you like to use and why? What are the inclusion characteristics, i.e., what must they have in order to be included in your study (for example, gender, diagnosis, age, personality traits, etc.)? Are there any exclusion characteristics, i.e. are there certain characteristics that would exclude them from being in your study? Does the sample need to be diverse? Why or why not?

What sampling technique will be used to collect your sample? What population does your sample generalize to?

What are the variables in your study? HINT: Refer back to your hypothesis or hypotheses.

Provide operational definitions for each variable.

How will you measure each variable? Discuss the reliability and validity of these measures in general terms.

What technique will be used for data collection (e.g., observation, survey, interview, archival, etc.)?

What type of research design is being used?

Briefly discuss the procedure that would be followed when conducting the research.

Identify the information needed to develop a template that will be used to complete the individual employee’s learning plan.

Develop a six-to-eight-page document in Word format detailing how you would approach and organize a program to address needs for development of the company as well as individual employees. Be sure to clearly explain how you would create the plan, but do not create the plan itself. Use the following file naming convention: LastnameFirstInitial_M5_A2.doc.

Address the following in the plan:

Identify the information needed to develop a template that will be used to complete the individual employee’s learning plan.
Identify the information needed in order to develop the company’s needs assessment.
Explain how you would coordinate both the individual employee’s plan and the company’s needs assessment into a comprehensive development plan. Be sure to identify overlaps or gaps.
Explain how you would use this information to create a roadmap for development of a career development program for the company.
Identify other factors that should be considered in this program’s development.
Explain how the proposed plan would help managers effectively guide their staff in developing individual career development plans that are integrated with and support the company’s mission and values.
