Risk management includes the implementation of procedures and policies in order to protect assets from risk. You can either use data you collect yourself, or data you find on the internet. Your paper should include 3 sections: an introduction where you introduce the question you are trying to answer and why you are interested in it, a methods section where you discuss how the data was collected, finally a results section where you analyze the data. Below is a more detailed description of what should be included in each section.  You should also consider how easy it will be to find or collect the data you want. You only have about a week to complete this paper, so you want to have a way to easily and quickly get data. A good source of data is from sports. People generally collect a lot of data about sport stars and sporting events. It can also be easy to find metrics on your own sports performance (depending on the metric and the sport). For example, you could try to estimate your average tennis serve speed, or the average serve speed for a professional player. Another easy way to collect data would be to do a convenience survey of you classmates or other students at the school. Remember that the variable you are measuring should be quantitative, so that you can actually compute its mean.              The data you used, as well as the calculations you performed should be in an excel file you turn in with you paper. Clearly label all of the information contained in each cell, and as much as possible reference cells containing numbers instead of typing values into functions. This will help me see your process.              There is not a hard page limit for the paper, but I expect that if you touch on all of the points listed below, your write up will be around 3 pages long. Remember your goal is to demonstrate to me what you have learned in the course so far.              A couple of final Remarks: Please have a rough draft of your paper prepared by Friday, July 8, and bring a paper copy to class. Also, when writing your paper next week, you can make the assumption that your sample standard deviation is the same as the population standard deviation. On Thursday next week, we will have a method for computing confidence intervals without this assumption, and it will be an easy edit to change your method. – What are interested in investigating? The final assignment in this course is intended to give you an opportunity to pursue something that interests you further and to demonstrate your knowledge of the science of cooking. While the final assignment is not due for a number of weeks, at this time you will be selecting a topic and submitting it for approval. There are three different options for you to select from:1. Recipe analysis – You will assemble a \’cook book\’ with a minimum of 8 recipes which might be organized by meal categories (such as entree, baked goods, desserts) or any other logical arrangement. This assignment, however, is more than just pulling together some recipes you like but rather is intended to demonstrate the knowledge you have built over the term. You will analyze each recipe and discuss the selection of cooking method, the impact of heat on the ingredients, and something about the key ingredients, and a discussion of the. The focus of this assignment should not be culinary but rather is intended to demonstrate your understanding of the science behind the recipe and make connections to the concepts described in your readings.2. Cooking project – Select a food product (but not chocolate chip cookies as Alton Brown already did that!) then find at least three recipes that result in variations in the final product. This assignment works best when you change just one variable at a time. For example, you might prepare the food using three different fats OR three different types of flour.  You will then prepare the food and evaluate the differences in the final products. Photo or video documentation should be included and the use of independent food critics is encouraged. Another approach might be to try making a food product, such as sauerkraut or sourdough bread, where the focus would be on the science of the process rather than the cooking.3. Final Paper – This will be an 6-10 page paper with properly cited references on a topic of your choice related to the science of cooking. An in-depth look at different cooking techniques or cuisines would be two examples.This assignment is intended to offer choices that best suit your interests and give you an opportunity to demonstrate your understanding of the course concepts. If you think of something that you would be interested in pursuing other than the choices offered, please let me know.After you decide what approach you will be taking, write it up in sufficient detail to make it clear to me what you will be doing and how you will be emphasizing the science behind the activity. Pick your topic carefully as what is , will be what is  for the paper/project. Minor scope changes are fine but requests for radical changes in the couple of weeks before the due date will not be acceptable.

Credibility is depended on three main factors, personal, expertise, and the judgment of your audience. The questions you would ask yourself are \”Am i sincere\”, \”Am I honest\”, \”Can i be considered as a reliable source\”, \”Do I have the experience, knowledge, or even insight on what i am talking about\”, \”Can my values, likes, dislikes, and/or experiences, relate to my audience. All of these questions a writer has to rake into consideration when wanting to have a good speech. Now making your speech credible through the audience eyes is a little different but not as much. The speaker or writer must trust, respect, and in a way like the audience. Trust that they are interested in your speech they can relate to it. Respect that they gave you the speaker the time of day or else you wouldn\’t have anyone to say your speech to. And like your audience because in an odd way both you and the audience have something in common. Because you and the audience are somewhat friend you as the speaker has to ensure the safety of your audience. Not in the sense of physical hurt but mental or spiritual hurt. Also bottom line is making the speech your own, and credits credible so that the audience can relate to it too.
